Sex'n'Gears
Tris Khaylen's and my author page — built, designed, and half-written by me. The web project that shows what happens outside of one's own systems.

Two voices, one side.
Tris Khaylen and I write separately: she writes romance and dark romance, I write high fantasy and steampunk. The site has to carry both without one overshadowing the other — that's why the books are organized by genre and the author profiles are laid out equally.
In addition to that, there are detail pages for each title, a blog, and a newsletter that can be filtered by author and topic — plus Joomla's Smart Search across the entire site.
The books are created without AI.
This belongs on a page like this, explicitly stated: I write my novels by hand. I've been building the world of Martyria since 2015, and the first title was published in 2022 — both long before the tools listed elsewhere on these pages.
I've been building Martyria since 2015 — now over 600 pages of concept, plus currencies, a calendar, a character glossary and a timeline. That's less inspiration than bookkeeping: for a world to hold up, it has to be referenceable.
The style is recognizably mine: somewhere in the direction of Patrick Rothfuss, just dirtier. That's exactly why it wouldn't work with a language model either. The fact that I work professionally on AI systems doesn't change anything — I keep the two things separate.
What of that is from me?
Structure and implementation
Joomla with YOOtheme Pro as the foundation, extended with my own code where the builder falls short. Set up entirely by me.
All covers
The book covers of both authors are mine — artwork, typography and print-ready files for both print and shop.
Martyria Wiki
The reference section for the world behind the books — with its own full-text search and separate location search, both custom-built instead of from a kit.
Books and worldbuilding
I write the steampunk and fantasy titles myself. Behind Martyria are over 600 pages of concept — currencies, calendars, character glossary, timeline.
Why this is here
openM!nded stands for our own systems, and web development runs alongside it. Sex'n'Gears is where that becomes visible: a site in actual operation, deployed on someone else's platform instead of being built from scratch — and thus the proof that it works even without our own toolbox.
